Pre-Order New Wage by Boardroom Heroes

July 22, 2014

We're very pleased to announce that you can pre-order the new EP New Wage from Boardroom Heroes in our webstore!  The official release date is August 19, 2014.

This EP has been in-the-making for a while now - and we're thrilled to be receiving a big shipment on vinyl records again!  It's a 10" record pressed at 45rpm and there are three variants - Black (150/500), Transparent Beer (150/500) and Oxblood (200/500).  We tried to do some color matching with Ryan Ford's incredible album artwork.

The 5 songs on the EP were recorded at Salad Days Studio with Brian McTernan - someone I hold in the absolute highest regard.  His ability to get the most out of a band during the recording process is extremely impressive.  I got to see it first-hand during Pinsky's Weekends sessions - and I was fortunate enough to be a fly on the wall again during the recording of New Wage.  Both he and the band delivered.

One thing I've noticed in these recordings is the growth in the skill of the guitar lines.  Stephen Parsons and Drew Champion (recently replaced, amicably, by Nick Freese) were welcome additions that added a subtle complexity to the songs.  It goes without saying that Andre and Augusto Pagliarini absolutely hold down the rhythm section - I guess I've grown so accustomed to their talents that it's almost unfairly expected of them at this point.  It's still punk rock - it's still fast - but there's a very apparent growth in these songs.  Another Year will always have a place in my heart - but New Wage is the sound of a band that is firing on all cylinders.

I'm very, very proud of this EP.  I hope that you enjoy it as much as we have enjoyed the process of putting it out!
